About this tour
This private three-day route leaves Buenos Aires for the wetlands, grasslands and Espinal woodland of southern Entre Rios. The first day combines a birding stop around Otamendi with field birding near Ceibas and Gualeguay, followed by an optional after-dark search when conditions permit.
The second day concentrates on Espinal specialties and the river environment around Puerto Ruiz before continuing along rural roads near Gualeguay. These contrasting habitats support marsh birds, woodland species, kingfishers and open-country birds within a compact circuit north of Buenos Aires.
On the final day, the route works through the Medanos area and returns to Buenos Aires, with additional stops selected according to time and the group’s priorities. The itinerary is private and arranged on request. Day 1
Buenos Aires to Gualeguay
Leave Buenos Aires early, bird around Otamendi and continue through Ceibas and the Gualeguay area. An owling session may be added after dusk when conditions allow.
Day 2
Espinal woodland and Puerto Ruiz
Search for Espinal specialties, visit the river environment at Puerto Ruiz and continue birding rural roads around Gualeguay.
Day 3
Medanos and return to Buenos Aires
Bird the Medanos area before returning to Buenos Aires, adding field stops when time and target priorities permit.
