Grallariidae — Antpittas

Boyaca Antpitta, Grallaria alticola, is a passerine of the family Grallariidae that breeds in eastern Colombia. It is found along the Eastern Andes in Santander, Boyacá, Cundinamarca and the Capital District, where it lives mainly in páramo and nearby montane forest. It is also recorded in open country within its height range. The species was described by Todd in 1919 and was once treated as part of Tawny Antpitta. It is a year-round resident across its range, and its voice was central to its recognition as a separate species.
