Flying Steamer Duck

Flying Steamer Duck Tachyeres patachonicus is a duck in the Anatidae family and one of four steamer ducks in the genus Tachyeres. It is the only steamer duck that can fly, and it is also the only one found on inland fresh waters. The species occurs in aquatic areas of central and southern Chile and Argentina, with breeding recorded in southern Chile, southern Argentina and possibly the Falkland Islands. It is the smallest of the four Tachyeres species.
