Hylopezus auricularis (Gyldenstolpe, 1941)
Masked Antpitta, Hylopezus auricularis, is a passerine of the Grallariidae family that breeds in Bolivia in South America. It is found in a few localities in the far western Amazon Basin, especially around Riberalta in northern Beni near the Pando border, and it is also known from Beni and Pando departments. The bird lives in secondary forest with thick, tangled growth, often close to open edges, and it is said to favour muddy places. It stays in the same area year-round. Its breeding season runs from September to February, and it lays two eggs in a shallow cup nest.
