Rüppell's Weaver, Ploceus galbula, is a bird of the family Ploceidae found in Sudan, Somalia and extreme northern Kenya, and also in the south-western Arabian Peninsula. In north Ethiopia, it occurs in the mountains of Degua Tembien in bushy and shrubby places. The species was named for the German zoologist and explorer Eduard Rüppell. It was described by Rüppell in 1840.
