Rwenzori Batis, Batis diops, is a bird of the Albertine Rift montane forests in eastern Africa, with its breeding range in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, south-west Uganda, western Rwanda and western Burundi. It was described by Jackson, FJ, in 1905 and belongs to the Platysteiridae family. It is found in montane evergreen forest between 1,340 and 3,300 m, especially in dense African alpine bamboo forest and on ridges with closed canopy cover. The species is small and active, with dark bluish black upperparts, a white wing stripe and loral spot, and a mostly white underside marked by a glossy breast band.
