Slender-billed Thornbill

Slender-billed Thornbill, Acanthiza iredalei, is a passerine of western to south-central Australia in the Acanthizidae. It was described by Mathews in 1911. It is found in shrublands and salt marshes, especially around salt lakes and on low heath across sand plains. The species has three subspecies: A. i. hedleyi, A. i. iredalei and A. i. rosinae. Its nest is a small structure placed in low shrubs, made from grass, bark, cobwebs and other material from the shrubland. Breeding runs from July to November, and females lay up to three eggs.
