Grallariidae — Antpittas

Tepui Antpitta, Myrmothera simplex, is a bird of the Grallariidae family that breeds on the tepuis of South America, with records from Brazil, Guyana and Venezuela. It is a resident throughout its range. The species is tied to the tepui region where southeastern and southern Venezuela, far north-western Brazil and far western Guyana meet. It lives in dense pre-montane rainforest and cloudforest on tepui slopes, and in more open, stunted forest on the summits. It is mostly found above 1,200 m, though its range extends from 600 to 2,400 m.
