Ticking Doradito

Pseudocolopteryx citreola (Landbeck, 1864)

Tyrannidae — Tyrant Flycatchers, Calyptura

Ticking Doradito, Pseudocolopteryx citreola, is a passerine of the tyrant flycatcher family that breeds in south-central South America, in central Chile and west-central Argentina. It is a monotypic species that was once treated as part of the warbling doradito until vocal differences led to separation in 2010. It lives in dense Baccharis growth, brushy open country with Tamarix, reed beds, and in Chile also marshes and willow thickets beside watercourses. In Argentina it breeds from November to December, and the Chilean birds move across the Andes after breeding.
