Variegated Bristle Tyrant, Pogonotriccus poecilotis, is a passerine of the Tyrannidae family that lives in the Andes of northern Colombia and north-west Venezuela south through Peru. It is a resident bird of humid subtropical montane forest, including wet cloudforest in Venezuela, and is found from 1,400 m to 2,300 m depending on country. It has a disjunct range across the Serranía del Perijá, the Colombian Andes, and the eastern slopes of the Andes in Ecuador and Peru. Adults of both sexes look alike, and the species was first described by Sclater in 1862.
