Calamanthus montanellus Milligan, 1903

Western Fieldwren, Calamanthus montanellus, is a passerine of the Acanthizidae family found in south-western Australia, where it breeds in south-west WA. It was described by Milligan in 1903. Many authorities treat it as a separate species, although it has also been placed with the rufous fieldwren. A later genetic and morphological study proposed that Calamanthus montanellus is the same as Calamanthus campestris.
