About this tour
Southern Entre Ríos brings together open Pampas, espinal woodland, flooded fields and seasonal wetlands around Ceibas, about two hours north of Buenos Aires. The habitat changes repeatedly along rural roads, allowing a full day to move between distinct bird communities without adopting a rushed pace.
Most observation is from or near the vehicle, with carefully chosen short walks where a target habitat warrants it. Stripe-crowned Spinetail, Brown Cacholote and Scimitar-billed Woodcreeper may occur in woodland; open country adds Greater Rhea and harriers; wetter ground supports Snail Kite and threatened seedeaters when water levels are suitable.
The outing includes private guiding, city pickup and return, breakfast, lunch and water. An early start, often around 06:00, leaves time for changing light and late-day possibilities such as Short-eared Owl and nightjars. Route, targets and any extended finish remain conditional on season and current conditions.
