Private Birdwatching Tour in Armenia
A private guided birdwatching route through Armenia's wetlands, semi-desert landscapes, rocky canyons and oak forests.
About this tour
Explore several of Armenia's contrasting bird habitats on a private outing with an experienced local guide. Depending on season, conditions and the agreed route, the day can focus on the Ararat Valley and Armash wetlands or continue toward the canyon and woodland country around Khosrov Forest State Reserve.
Armash offers freshwater pools, reedbeds and open shores used by waterbirds and waders. The drier landscapes beyond the wetlands add raptors and species associated with rocky slopes and semi-desert terrain, while oak woodland introduces another distinct set of habitats.
The route is suitable for both experienced birders and travelers beginning to explore birdwatching. Field time and pace can be adapted around observation, photography and the group's experience. Flamingos, White-tailed Lapwings, Pygmy Cormorants, Marbled Ducks, Glossy Ibises, vultures, eagles and Lesser Kestrels are examples recorded for these areas, but sightings remain seasonal and cannot be guaranteed.
The standard private outing lasts approximately four hours and costs AMD 80,000 per person. Pickup and return are provided at the traveller's accommodation in Yerevan, and a breakfast box is included. Participants bring their own binoculars. Longer full-day or multi-day birdwatching programs and lodge stays can be arranged for an additional fee after a BirdWatch inquiry.
