African Dusky Flycatcher

Muscicapa adusta (Boie, F, 1828)

African Dusky Flycatcher, Muscicapa adusta, is a resident breeder in western, eastern and southern Africa, where it occurs in elevated parts of sub-Saharan regions. It belongs to the Old World flycatcher family and is a small passerine. It is found in woodland, including riverine forest, the edges of evergreen forest and clearings, especially close to water such as lakes, dams and streams, and also in well-treed suburban gardens. Its plumage is plain brown above, with an indistinct narrow eye-ring, and grey-brown below with faint streaking.
