African Goshawk, Aerospiza tachiro, is a widespread African bird of prey in the family Accipitridae, breeding across much of the continent. It is a medium to large hawk with broad wings and a long tail, and adults are mainly grey and rufous. The upperparts are grey, the underparts whitish with rufous barring, and the bill is black with a greenish-grey cere. Juveniles are brown above with pale underparts and bold brown blotches on the flanks. It lives in forest and dense woodland, and also uses riverine forest, plantations, parks and large gardens.
