African Thrush, Turdus pelios, is a thrush in the family Turdidae that breeds in western and central Africa. It was described by Bonaparte in 1850. It is found in wooded places, including forest edges, riverine woodland, scrub, cultivated areas, parks and gardens. The species is resident. It is usually seen alone or in pairs and often keeps to cover, though it also comes to fruiting trees. Its range runs from Senegal and Gambia east to South Sudan, Uganda, Ethiopia and Eritrea, and south to north-western Zambia and western Angola.
