Alashan Redstart

Phoenicurus alaschanicus

The Alashan Redstart is a small passerine bird found in the mountainous regions of central Asia. It has a distinctive black face mask and bright rufous plumage on its breast and flanks, with the rest of the body being predominantly grey. This species is known for its agile and acrobatic foraging behavior, often seen darting between rocks and shrubs in search of insects. The Alashan Redstart is a migratory bird, breeding in high-altitude areas and wintering in lower elevations. Its melodious song can often be heard echoing through the valleys and gorges of its habitat.
