Algerian Nuthatch, Sitta ledanti, is a bird of montane northern Algeria in Africa and belongs to the nuthatch family Sittidae. It is the only bird species endemic to Algeria. The bird lives in certain coniferous and broadleaf forests in the Kabylia region. Its scientific name honours Jean-Paul Ledant, who found the bird in October 1975, and the species was described by Vielliard in 1976. It is also known as the Kabyle nuthatch. The male is marked by a black front to the crown, which separates it from the female.
