Alishan Bush Warbler

Locustella alishanensis

The Alishan Bush Warbler (Locustella alishanensis) is a small, secretive bird species found in the high-altitude forests of Taiwan. This warbler is known for its distinctive song, which is often heard but rarely seen due to its shy nature. It has a brownish-olive plumage with subtle streaking, providing excellent camouflage in its dense forest habitat. The Alishan Bush Warbler forages for insects and small invertebrates on the forest floor and in the undergrowth. Its conservation status is currently listed as Vulnerable due to habitat loss and degradation caused by deforestation and human encroachment.
