Alphonse's Fulvetta

Suthora alphonsiana

Alphonse's Fulvetta (Suthora alphonsiana) is a small passerine bird found in the eastern Himalayas. It is characterized by its olive-green upperparts, yellow underparts, and a distinctive black mask across its eyes. This species is often found in mixed-species foraging flocks, where it flits through the undergrowth in dense forests and bamboo thickets. Alphonse's Fulvetta primarily feeds on insects and small invertebrates. Although not much is known about its population trends, it is believed to be relatively stable within its range. However, habitat loss and fragmentation due to deforestation are potential threats to its long-term survival.
