Amboim Shrike

Laniarius amboimensis

The Amboim Shrike (Laniarius amboimensis) is a medium-sized passerine bird found in the forests and woodlands of Angola. It is recognized by its distinctive black and white plumage, with a black head, wings, and tail, and white underparts. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard during the breeding season. The Amboim Shrike primarily feeds on insects and small vertebrates, foraging within the dense vegetation of its habitat. Although not much is known about its population trends, it is believed to be vulnerable to habitat loss and degradation due to deforestation and human encroachment.
