Edolisoma amboinense
The Ambon cuckooshrike (Edolisoma amboinense) is a medium-sized bird found in the forests and woodlands of the Maluku Islands in Indonesia. It has a distinctive black and white plumage with a hooked bill and a long tail. This species is known for its agile and acrobatic flight as it hunts for insects and small vertebrates in the dense vegetation. The Ambon cuckooshrike is a solitary and territorial bird, often seen perched high in the canopy or flying between trees. Its melodious calls can be heard echoing through the forest. Despite being relatively common within its range, habitat loss and deforestation pose a threat to its population.
