Falco amurensis
The Amur Falcon is a small bird of prey known for its remarkable long-distance migration. During the breeding season, it inhabits open woodlands and forest edges in eastern Asia, building nests on cliffs or in trees. This species is highly gregarious and forms large flocks during migration. Amur Falcons primarily feed on insects, often catching them in mid-air, and occasionally prey on small birds and rodents. Their striking appearance, with a slate-grey back, white underparts, and chestnut-colored underwings, makes them a visually stunning sight in flight. Despite facing threats such as habitat loss and hunting, the Amur Falcon's conservation status is currently classified as Least Concern by the IUCN.
