Amur Stonechat

Saxicola stejnegeri (Parrot, 1908)

Amur Stonechat, Saxicola stejnegeri, is a passerine in the Muscicapidae that breeds across eastern Siberia, eastern Mongolia, Korea and Japan, and moves to south-east Asia outside the breeding season. It is the eastern form sometimes treated as a separate species from the Siberian stonechat. In breeding plumage the male shows black upperparts and head, a clear white collar, white on the scapulars and rump, and only a small orange area on the throat. The female is paler brown above, with white neck patches and a pale, unstreaked rump.
