Andaman Masked Owl, Tyto deroepstorffi, lives in the southern Andaman Islands of India and breeds in the Oriental Region. It is a barn owl found only there, and it is set apart from other Tyto forms by the absence of the grey, black-and-white speckled veil seen in them. It is known from the coastal plain, including fields, gardens with trees and human settlements. Some authorities have treated it as part of the common barn owl or eastern barn owl, while others accept it as a separate species.
