Andean Pygmy Owl, Glaucidium jardinii, is an owl of the family Strigidae that breeds in South America from western Venezuela to central Peru. It is a monotypic species. In the Andes it occupies cloudforest, elfin forest and Polylepis woodland, and also uses forest edges and pastures with scattered trees. It occurs from the middle storeys of the forest up to the canopy. The species was described by Bonaparte in 1855.
