Apical Flycatcher
Myiarchus apicalis
The Apical Flycatcher (Myiarchus apicalis) is a small to medium-sized passerine bird found in Central and South America. It is known for its distinctive call and behavior of perching at the tops of trees to hunt for insects. The upperparts are olive-brown, the throat and breast are pale gray, and the belly is yellow. This species is often found in open woodlands, forest edges, and second growth habitats. It is an agile flier, catching insects on the wing and returning to its perch. The Apical Flycatcher is not currently considered to be at risk, and its population appears to be stable.
