Apostlebird, Struthidea cinerea, is a passerine of north-central and eastern Australia, where it breeds in dry open woodland. Gould described it in 1837, and it belongs to the Corcoracidae, the Australian mudnesters. It is the only member of its genus. The bird is also called grey jumper, lousy jack and happy family. Its name refers to the twelve apostles. Apostlebirds live socially in family groups, and several groups may join together. They build mud nests in trees, and breeding runs from August to December.
