Appert's Tetraka, Xanthomixis apperti, is a passerine of south-west Madagascar, where it breeds in two known sites. It was described in 1972 and is part of the Bernieridae family. The bird is tied to forest, with one population in dry deciduous woodland at Zombitse-Vohibasia National Park and another in montane evergreen forest at Analavelona Classified Forest. It is notable for its limited range and for being named after the Reverend Otto Appert, a Swiss missionary and amateur naturalist.
