Arabian Bustard, Ardeotis arabs, is a bustard of western, central and north-eastern Africa. It also occurs in south-western Arabia. It lives in semi-desert, dry grassy plains and Acacia woodland. The bird belongs to the genus Ardeotis and is a typical member of that group. It is a large, slender bustard and is smaller than the kori bustard. The folded wing shows a white checkered pattern at the end. Four subspecies are recognised, including forms from west Morocco, the Sahel, Ethiopia, Somalia, Yemen, Saudi Arabia and south Sudan.
