Arabian Green Bee-eater, Merops cyanophrys, is a bee-eater of the arid Middle East, breeding in southern Israel and across the Arabian Peninsula. It is found in open country with scattered trees, including wadis, gardens and farmland, but not in bare desert. Its most striking feature is the vivid blue on the throat and face, which is stronger than in the related Asian and African green bee-eaters. The bird also shows a black crescent on the upper breast, red iris, black bill and dark grey legs. Two subspecies are recognised.
