Estrilda rufibarba (Cabanis, 1851)
Arabian Waxbill, Estrilda rufibarba, is a bird of south-western Saudi Arabia and western Yemen in the Palearctic. It is an estrildid finch and is closely tied to wetter ground, especially terraced slopes, wadis and irrigated farmland. In Yemen it occurs in the southern Tihamah foothills, along the south coast as far east as Wadi al-Jahr, and in Wadi Hadramawt between Shibam and Tarim. It is linked to areas with dense trees and bushes, and to places where water is readily available.
