Armit's flyrobin

Heteromyias armiti

Armit's flyrobin (Heteromyias armiti) is a small passerine bird found in the forests of New Guinea. It has a distinctive appearance with a black head and upperparts, white underparts, and a bright yellow patch on its wings. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, which it uses to communicate and defend its territory. Armit's flyrobin forages for insects and small invertebrates in the dense undergrowth of the forest, often perching on low branches or hopping along the forest floor. Its population size and trend are currently unknown, and more research is needed to determine its conservation status.
