Ash-breasted Flycatcher

Tyranniscus cinereiceps

The Ash-breasted Flycatcher is a small, insectivorous bird found in the highlands of Mexico and Central America. It is known for its distinctive ash-gray breast and olive-green upperparts. This species is often found in pine-oak forests, cloud forests, and mixed woodlands, where it perches in the mid to upper levels of the canopy, sallying out to catch flying insects. The Ash-breasted Flycatcher is known for its sharp, high-pitched calls and is often observed in pairs or small family groups. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and degradation are potential threats to its populations.
