Ash-throated Gnateater, Conopophaga peruviana, is a passerine of the Conopophagidae family in western and south-western Amazonia, with a breeding range in South America. It was described by des Murs in 1856. Its distribution reaches eastern Ecuador, eastern Peru, far western Brazil and a small part of Bolivia. It is a monotypic species. The male has a grey face, back and breast, with a darker back, a brownish crown, a white throat, a white tuft behind the eye and a brown lower belly. The female has a rufous face and breast, with brown upperparts.
