Ashy Robin Heteromyias albispecularis is a bird of montane Bird's Head and Neck in north-west New Guinea, where it breeds in the Australasian robin family Petroicidae. It is a stout robin of the forest understorey and ground layer, and is set apart by its sooty head and cheeks with a pale line running back from the eye. The throat is white, the underparts become buff, the upperparts are olive-brown, and the wing carries a pale patch. It was described by Salvadori in 1876.
