Asian Pratincole

Glareola nordmanni

The Asian Pratincole (Glareola nordmanni) is a migratory bird species found in parts of Asia. This bird is known for its distinctive long wings and graceful flight. During the breeding season, the Asian Pratincole can be found in open grasslands and wetlands, where it forages for insects and small invertebrates. Outside of the breeding season, it migrates to wintering grounds in Southeast Asia. This species faces threats from habitat loss and degradation of its breeding and wintering habitats. Conservation efforts are focused on protecting key breeding and foraging areas to ensure the survival of this species.
