Atlantic Black-throated Trogon, Trogon chrysochloros, is a trogon of eastern and southern Brazil, Paraguay and north-east Argentina. It belongs to the family Trogonidae and was described by Pelzeln in 1856. The nominate form is the more widespread of the two recognised subspecies, with a separate population in north-east Brazil. It lives in humid primary forest and mature secondary forest in lowland and foothill areas, and the Atlantic Forest population is known from around 500 m. The species is a year-round resident.
