Atlantic yellow-nosed albatross

Phoebetria palpebrata

The Atlantic yellow-nosed albatross is a medium-sized seabird with a wingspan of approximately 2 meters. It is known for its striking yellow bill and pale gray plumage, with a darker back and wings. These albatrosses are highly adapted for life at sea, spending the majority of their lives over open ocean, only returning to land to breed. They are skilled gliders, using dynamic soaring to cover vast distances with minimal effort. These birds are often found in the southern Atlantic Ocean, where they forage for fish, squid, and other marine organisms. Unfortunately, they face threats from fisheries bycatch and habitat degradation, leading to a vulnerable conservation status.
