Attenborough's Gnatcatcher

Polioptila attenboroughi

Attenborough's Gnatcatcher is a small, insectivorous bird found in the dry forests of Brazil. It is named after the renowned naturalist Sir David Attenborough. This species is known for its distinctive blue-gray plumage, white underparts, and long tail. It forages actively for small insects and spiders in the foliage of trees and shrubs. The gnatcatcher's melodious song can often be heard as it flits through the canopy. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, the conservation status of Attenborough's Gnatcatcher is currently listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN.
