Auckland Rail, Lewinia muelleri, is a rail of the Auckland Islands in New Zealand, breeding on Adams Island and Disappointment Island south of the South Island. It is a small, almost flightless bird and is confined to those two islands. Its head and neck are reddish-brown, with a grey breast and a brown-black back. The species is usually seen on the ground and only rarely takes to the air. It was first described by Rothschild in 1893 and belongs to the rail family.
