Australian Logrunner, Orthonyx temminckii, is a passerine in the Orthonychidae family and breeds in eastern Australia from south-east Queensland to south-east New South Wales. It lives on the forest floor in moist rainforest, where fallen timber, leaf litter, ferns, vines and saplings are part of its setting. Its most striking feature is the stiff, spine-like tail, which it uses as a prop while it clears debris and scratches at the ground. The head and back are reddish-brown, the wings mostly black, and the tail dark brown. The female has an orange-rufous throat, and the male is larger.
