Australian Raven, Corvus coronoides, is a passerine corvid that breeds in south-western, central and eastern Australia. It was described by Vigors and Horsfield in 1827. It is found in open woodland, transitional country, towns and cities, and has adapted well to human settlements, with regular records from Sydney, Canberra, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane. Mature birds are set apart from the Australian crow and other close corvids by their long throat feathers. Two subspecies are recognised, and they differ slightly in voice.
