Australian Reed Warbler

Acrocephalus australis

The Australian Reed Warbler is a small, insectivorous bird found in Australia and nearby islands. It is distinguished by its olive-brown upperparts and pale underparts with streaks. This species is known for its loud, melodious song, often heard in reed beds and wetlands. Australian Reed Warblers build cup-shaped nests among reeds and grasses, where they raise their young. They are highly territorial during the breeding season and often engage in aggressive behavior to defend their nesting sites. This species migrates to northern Australia and New Guinea during the non-breeding season.
