Azara's Spinetail, Synallaxis azarae, is a resident bird of the Andes from western Venezuela to north-western Argentina, belonging to the Furnariidae. It lives in semi-open country, especially along forest edges, secondary growth, thickets and roadsides, and in Argentina also in semi-deciduous and deciduous woodland. It usually keeps close to dense cover near the ground, though it can feed higher up. Its range spans much of South America, and it is present year-round. The species is named for Félix de Azara.
