Azores Bullfinch Pyrrhula murina is a passerine finch of the Azores, breeding on São Miguel in the Atlantic Ocean. It was described by Godman in 1866 and is confined to the island’s eastern native laurisilva, especially around Pico da Vara in the Serra da Tronqueira. The bird is plump for a finch, with shorter wings and a longer tail than many relatives. Its plumage is darker than that of the Eurasian bullfinch, with a black cap, face, wings and tail, and grey to pale grey-brown elsewhere.
