This species is known for its remarkable fishing skills, as it dives from overhanging branches to catch small fish and aquatic invertebrates. The Azure Kingfisher nests in burrows along riverbanks and feeds primarily on aquatic prey. Its distinctive call can often be heard near freshwater habitats, where it hunts for its food.
