Leonardina woodi (Mearns, 1905)

Bagobo Babbler, Leonardina woodi, is a bird of montane Mindanao in the southern Philippines, where it lives in moist forest from 500 to 2,030 metres. It is the only member of its genus and is placed in Muscicapidae. It is a secretive ground-dwelling bird with a sturdy black bill, long legs and large feet. Its upperparts are rufous-brown, while the underparts are grey with a white throat and rufous on the lower belly to the tail base. It is found in mossy, degraded secondary and primary forest, especially where tree ferns and pandan grow.
