Baird's Junco

Junco bairdi

Baird's Junco (Junco bairdi) is a small sparrow found in the mountains of Mexico. It has a dark gray head, back, and wings, with a pinkish-buff belly and white outer tail feathers. This species is known for its distinctive trilling song and can often be found foraging for seeds and insects on the forest floor. Baird's Junco is a migratory bird, spending the breeding season in the high-altitude coniferous forests and descending to lower elevations during the winter. Despite its limited range, Baird's Junco is relatively abundant and is not currently considered to be at risk of extinction.
