Baird's Trogon, Trogon bairdii, is a trogon of Middle America, breeding in Costa Rica and Panama. It was described by Lawrence in 1868 and belongs to the family Trogonidae. The species is found on the Pacific side of Costa Rica, from the Tárcoles River south into western Panama’s Chiriquí Province. It lives mainly in the canopy of humid rainforest, and also uses forest edges, tall secondary growth and shady open woodland. Its range runs from sea level to 1,200 m.
